OBJECTIVE

To monitor consumption, reduce demand and utilise alternatives

SOLUTION

Alligned with our first step, we installed Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) devices to monitor consumption and flow profiles. We did a lot of work to reduce consumption by increasing efficiencies (tap aerators, toilet flushing mechanisms) and eliminating waste (leaks, over irrigation, faulty mechanisms). We then designed and installed backup systems and rainwater harvesting with filtration.

RESULTS

Purified rainwater was supplied to the building, giving the Centurion building an almost perfect water score in the Green Building Council's case study scorecard.
