KILO-LITRES WATER SAVED

OBJECTIVE

Installation of an additional municipal backup and rainwater harvesting system

SOLUTION

Pipework was installed to harvest water from the roof. This water collects in four 5000 litre tanks. When the water level in the larger municipal backup tank is such that it needs to be supplemented the pump switches on. This draws the harvested water from the tanks through the filtration process and into the larger backup tank where it is ready to be used. The system was also installed so that it could fill with municipal water during the dry season.

RESULTS

Utilise the large surface area of the roof to harvest water from an alternative source in order to decrease water supplied by council and provide backup storage.
