The cheapest water is the water you stop wasting. Most sites can cut demand substantially before spending anything meaningful on infrastructure. Once demand is optimised, everything built afterwards is smaller, cheaper and correctly sized.

Monitoring
Water monitoring means measuring consumption continuously rather than reading a meter once a month. A smart meter or logger on your incoming line records flow at short intervals. This builds a demand profile showing when, why and how much water a site uses.

A monthly municipal bill tells you what you used after you've used it. It can't show a toilet that has been running since the third of the month, an irrigation valve stuck open overnight, or a slow underground leak quietly costing you more each week. Those losses are invisible in a single monthly figure, which is why most sites carry them for months without knowing.

We install smart meters and data loggers, set alarms for above-average usage, continuous flow and pressure drops. We give you a real-time dashboard plus a monthly DROP Report.

Full visibility of consumption patterns within the first month, and leaks identified in days rather than billing cycles.


Efficiency
Water efficiency means delivering exactly the same service, while using less water. The same handwashing, the same flushing, the same clean floors and watered grounds, at a lower volume. Efficiency is not rationing, and users shouldn't notice it has happened.

More than 30% of the water a typical site pays for is lost after the meter, through inefficiency rather than consumption. Pressure that's higher than it needs to be. Taps flowing at three times the rate anyone uses. Toilet mechanisms that release far more water than the job requires. In commercial buildings, toilets alone can account for over half of total demand.
​
We fix that by servicing leaking infrastructure and installing efficiency devices. Efficiency measures include pressure reducing valves, low-flow aerators and efficient toilet outlet valves, including our own patented mechanism. None of it interrupts how a building operates day to day.

TYPICAL RESULT:
Up to 50% less water at the fixture level, with no change to how the site is used.
Resilience
Water resilience means operational continuity when normal supply is interrupted. The minimum standard we aim for is two full days of normal operation, automated so nobody has to intervene when it happens.

Water shedding is now a routine feature of South African operations, not an exception. For a school, an interruption means closing. For a shopping centre, it means tenants who can't trade. For an industrial site, it can mean stopping a process that is expensive to restart. Very few facilities can simply wait it out.
​
We design and install the storage tanks, pumps, pump rooms, civil and electrical works and basic filtration needed to carry a site through. We size against what the site actually uses, which is why we prefer to do it after demand has already been optimised.

A tested, automated two-day-plus backup that switches over without anyone noticing.


Drinking Quality
Drinking quality means treating water on site so it is safe to drink at the point of use. We don't assume the supply that arrives is fit for purpose. We implement advanced filtration, electrical systems, and continuous water quality monitoring, ensuring compliance with SANS241 standards.
Our answer to schools is a hydration station we call the POD, Purified On Demand. A POD filters water at the moment it's dispensed, no electricity needed.

Each POD connects directly to the municipal supply and purifies on demand using JoJo's Disruptor™ 5293 PAC-S filtration technology, dispensing at a high flow rate so a queue moves quickly. PODs are not storage tanks and water doesn't stand inside the unit. It is filtered fresh every time. All stations are monitored and filters are serviced on schedule.

SANS241-aligned drinking water on tap, and a measurable reduction in single-use plastic.
Augmentation
Augmentation means bringing water from sources other than the municipal grid into your supply. This may include rainwater from your own roof, groundwater from a borehole, or surface runoff that is treated to the standard the intended use requires.

A large roof is a water source that most sites let run into the storm drain. So is the groundwater underneath many properties. Using them reduces both what you draw from the municipal system and what you pay for it, and it means an interruption to supply is less disruptive.
​
We design, install and commission harvesting and borehole systems with the storage, filtration and monitoring to match. With full Water Audits, we handle the Water Use Licence where the volumes or the source require one. Use water twice: that's the secret.

TYPICAL RESULT:
A meaningful share of non-potable demand met from your own site, with municipal supply as the backup rather than the default.


Reuse
Reuse means treating water that has already been used on site. Greywater from basins and showers, and in some cases blackwater. We help you keep your water on site so it can serve a second purpose such as irrigation or toilet flushing, instead of going straight to sewer.

Every litre discharged is a litre paid for twice: once to buy it, once in sanitation charges. It also adds load to municipal wastewater treatment plants that are, in many parts of the country, already beyond what they can handle.
​
Reuse is typically the last intervention rather than the first. It makes most sense once demand has been optimised and the volumes are properly understood. For this reason, it usually appears in Phase 2 of a Water Resilience Roadmap rather than on day one.

Wastewater turned into a usable non-potable supply, with a correspondingly lower discharge volume.
Training & Awareness
The part that makes the rest last.
Every meter we install and every valve we replace saves water. But the savings that hold, year after year, come from people. Your water's 'first responders'. The groundsman who spots a leak on a Friday afternoon, the learner who closes a tap without being told, the tenant who understands what the number on the bill means.

This is why training sits at the centre of what we do rather than at the edge of it. Research on how behaviour spreads suggests that once roughly a quarter of a group genuinely adopts a new norm, the rest follow quickly. We think water works the same way, and getting South Africa to that tipping point is what the #SurplusWater movement exists to do.

More than 2,000 ground staff have been through our programmes. Our Water Matters 101 course falls under Category E of the Skills Development matrix, so the investment counts twice.
